Nature...Me too...
Why is it that we see "humans" as separate from nature?
Anytime we do something and it changes "nature" or "the wild" we refer to it as "un-natural."
We seek balance with nature, want to preserve nature, and at the same time we don't see ourselves as part of nature.
Do we have the ability to impact our surroundings, YES! Does a beaver have the ability to impact it's surroundings, YES! Does an elephant have the same ability to impact it's surroundings, YES!
There isn't a single creature that does not impact it's surroundings.
Perhaps the only un-natural thing about being human is our inability to see ourselves as "part of" instead of "separate from" nature.
When one sees themself as a "part of" the way they relate changes. Empathy and caring thrive when one sees themself as being a "PART OF!"
Until we have a relationship with nature there will always be a need to save the wild and all that the wild encompasses.
Are there other areas in your life where you have a feeling a being separate?
What would change if you no longer saw yourself as being separate?
With love,
